Lemma 1:Every time you meet someone you give them a quick mental hot rating. Just how European
singles choose a partner depends if you are a man or a woman, like so:
It should be noted that this is not an entirely conscious process. To make it clear here's an
illustrative example of what really happens:
* Bob Meets Christina at a European concert in London city
* Then Bob Meets Connie, a hot singles student in a bar in a city in France
Now the ladder theory description goes like this:
1. Bob Meets Christina, sizes her up based on the above criterion. Bob puts her on his ladder
of women, potential partner, ranking from ugly girls (0 points) to mega sexy girls (10 points)
4. Bob meets Connie in the French bar, sizes her up based on the above criterion as well, and
puts her on the ladder of sexy woman above Christina
You can recognize this has gone on because Bob says " I'd like to do single Christina from
London City, but not as much as I want to have a blind date with Connie in France"
I think that everyone has heard this or something like it enough times for us to accept it as
axiomatic and move on. You might be thinking, " Well what about Christina and Connie?" We'll
