Matthew Crouch shows us an imaginary world beyond mortar and bricks. Walls, windows and doors come alive, and gain a personality, along with the trees, and the moon, and the stars, and all the other creatures and critters in Matthew's art.
His unique style grew from an interest in Dutch artist Anton Pieck, and artists like Norman Rockwell. His work is also a consequence of his experiences, living in Amsterdam, New York City, Columbus, and Brussels.
Born in 1965, in Columbus, Ohio, in the United States, he attended The Ohio State University. Matthew is also a performance artist, and works in media and expanded arts. He currently lives and works in Brussels, Belgium.
