Jesse Walker, Texas Ranger believes the “One riot, one ranger” saying.  She’s the daughter and granddaughter of a Ranger as well as the sister of three others, all brothers.  Her specialty is infiltrating drug rings, making buys, and taking down the bad guys.  When she is tapped to guard a senator who is receiving threats and having his casual dates murdered, Jesse is not a happy camper.  She does not want babysitting duty.

Texas State Senator Andrew Wallis is a former athlete and now sexy single state senator with a reputation to uphold.  He does not want an entourage of bodyguards following his every move, but agrees to have a single ranger protect him, not realizing that Jesse Walker is a woman.  She is a breath of fresh air with her natural looks and responses.  He is used to practiced, polished and often manipulative women who are looking to date State Senator Wallis and not Andrew.

As the threats continue and Andrew’s dates are dropping like flies and little “mementos” are showing up at his office, tension mounts.  He is also growing more and more attracted to Jesse the more time he spends with her, which is basically 24/7.  Jesse is a closet romance reader and only thinks state senators fall in love with the ranger guards in romance stories and it’s always the guy guarding the girl.  She is almost unbelieving when he finally makes a move.  Now all they have to do is find the stalker/killer before he/she finds them and get acceptance of a family full of Texas Rangers and DA over protective brothers.

Anne Blaeske has written a thrilling and endearing romantic suspense and turning the tables of the stereotype with the girl guarding the guy in Texas Hears worked very well.  This is an extremely well written story with believable scenarios and characters.  Jesse is very strong minded and the senator is sexy and determined which makes a terrific HEA romance for all to enjoy!  I think Anne has the opportunity to write a few more Ranger stories about those hot brothers of Jesse.  You will dive into this book and not come up for air until the end.  I look forward to future works by Anne Blaeske.
