April Thompkins was a bicycle messenger who had just picked up a set of blueprints to deliver across town. On the way to her destination a mysterious black van began to follow her. Just before she reached the building where the blueprints were suppose to be delivered to, the van pulled up next to her and someone from inside of the van tried to grab her messenger’s bag! She swerved out of the way and almost crashed into a city bus! Surprisingly, April did not overly-react to this incident, because weirdoes were always picking on the bicycle messengers.  April pulled herself together and continued on her journey. She ended up delivering the blueprints to a Mr. Nielsen, the same man she had just literally bumped into in the elevator a few minutes earlier when she was on the way up to deliver the package. There they were face-to-face again! It was the second time within the same day! He was good-looking, but April wasn’t sure if she liked his attitude. He was strangely attracted to her, but she was young and filled with bundled-up emotions so he wasn’t sure that he wanted to take the time to get to know April. After he teased her a little with the package receipt he signed for the blueprints and April left his office.

Mr. Neilson stopped thinking about April long enough to take a look at the blueprints she had just delivered. Oh no, they were the wrong blueprints! The specs were all wrong and any building constructed using those specs would be dangerously unsafe! He decided to try and find April so that she could lead him to the person who had prepared the blueprints.  When he went to his car he saw April struggling with a big husky man in the back of a black van! He tried to holler at him to let her go, but there was too much traffic and the van was too far away to hear him. By the time Mr. Nielsen reached the spot where the van was, it had driven off down the street. He followed the van into an alley. When he pulled up behind the van he reached for his cell phone to call the police, but it was too late.  The man from the van was walking towards him.  He got out of his car and soon Nielsen was surrounded by two men! One of the men knocked him out and tied him up together with April in the back of the van. They were both being kidnapped!

Special Delivery was very good reading!  The story felt like I was watching a romantic suspense-filled movie on the big screen!  A movie starring Tom Cruise or someone of his caliber!  Linda Wallace her writing seemed effortless and each sentence flowed from one to another naturally and with ease.
