After they found out her colleague and boss embezzled company money, Emma Jean Frasier is suddenly without a job, without a friend and without a house. The only way out is to go back to Joyful, the town she once left behind for a very good reason, and live in the house she inherited from her grandmother, Emmajean. That good reason from 10 years ago probably moved out of Joyful a long time ago, so, it would turn out fine.

In Joyful, a big billboard is hung announcing the new strip club being build by a former porn star.  Since it’s being build on grounds that belonged to her grandmother, Emmajean. and Emma is returning after so many years, rumors are going around that she is the porn star.  Now everyone is talking about the strip club, the porn star and her return to town!

As soon as Emma steps one foot inside the first store, she meets the only person she wanted so much to avoid, Johnny Walker.  During her horrible entrance in which she slips and strains her ankle,  she has to rely on Johnny over and over again.(that damn foot) But it's all a painful situation. Emma once had expected to marry Johnny's brother, Nick, but he cheated on her and told her the night before prom. That was nothing compared to the fact that the one who took her boyfriend from her was also pregnant with their baby. She didn’t even want to think about the part where the whole town saw her naked after a scene with Johnny in the gazebo.

With just one contemporary romance comedy novel Leslie Kelly has managed to reach the same level as authors like Jennifer Crusie!  I read the first part of the story for 3 hours straight, and then I had to stop to get some sleep (it was 3 am).  I promptly continued the second part the next day.

I felt so much like I was Emma! I was happy when she was happy, felt in love when she was in love and felt pain when she was hurt..

With She Drives Me Crazy Leslie Kelly put together a perfect mix of comedy, romance and a little suspense like only few can! Her writing style is excellent,  three hours for reading half a book is pretty quick for a foreigner like me so it must say something about her smooth writing style.

Well, I’ve got myself a new author on my top rank! The way the story unfolded in front of me together with the realism and character portrayals made me feel like I was watching a movie instead of reading a book..

The romance scenes give away lots of sparks, while the local busybodies, and Johnny and Emma’s secret thoughts are so very comical!

I just found out that Leslie Kelly is planning a next book, which will tell the story of Nick Walker! (She's Got The Look - Sept 2005) I can hardly wait!

She Drives Me Crazy is a MUST-have for all of you who love chicklit or romantic comedies!
