Widowed Emily Scarlet has kept a big secret from her best friend/sister in law. She has kept the hurt to herself that her dead husband was a two timing jerk who had just left her for his bimbo secretary when he was killed in a car accident! Now she's out to gain her confidence back by attending a dance in Middlemarch where the men greatly outnumber the women. Although the true aim of the dance is to give the men an opportunity to meet potential wives, Emily or "Jo" as she's going by at the dance is only interested in having a man find her attractive and letting him prove it.
Saber Mitchell is a feline shape-shifter and in charge of his boisterous younger brothers who seem to have a propensity for being seen in their shifted form. He only hopes wives will settle them down and helps organize the balls at Middlemarch with just that in mind. He does not believe he has a match out there until an elder lets him know the gorgeous lady in red is truly for him. Now all he needs to do is convince "Jo" that they have more going for them than a quickie in the woods.
This was my first Shelley Munro , but it certainly won't be my last! Scarlet Woman explores that feeling every woman has had in her life when a man she loves dumps her and she feels there is something lacking in her. What better than another man to prove our attractiveness? Just because this man happens to be an oversized feline with several oversized feline brothers shouldn't spoil the fun, should it? What a fun and satisfying read! My fervent hope is that this was only the first book about those hot Mitchell men.
