Roman Draganesti was in a fix. A leader in the vampire world, he was the pioneer of synthetic blood and the fusion cuisine—a menu of high end blood that fused the flavors of chocolate and other such tasty mixes. Now, his vast corporation, Romatech—has created their newest invention yet: VANNA. VANNA stood for Vampire Artificial Nutritional Needs Appliance. She was basically a prototype of an artificial woman who had a real pulse. She was beautiful and for those Malcontents—vampires who killed not because they couldn’t afford to buy synthetic blood but for the thrill of the bite—VANNA seemed the perfect answer.

As the owner, President and CEO of Romatech, Roman was the one whom his researchers gave the opportunity to break VANNA in. Which meant that he was the one who had the first bite. Unfortunately, though VANNA’s skin was very human-like, smooth and creamy when felt, when bitten, she was rubbery and quite tough. Which bring us now to Roman’s problem. One of his fangs had gotten stuck in VANNA’s tough and rubbery skin. And he only had a few hours to find a dentist to fix the tooth before sunrise and if it isn’t set back in—Roman’s natural healing powers would close the wound and he would forever be the one-tooth wonder.

Shana Whelan had one lousy shift. She was the night dentist for a 24-hour dental clinic. Little does she know that in that one night, her whole life was going to change. She was going to run from would-be killers, be saved from villains by a vampire and under hypnosis, fix a vampire's fang. But that’s not all. There is much more in store for our tough little heroine. Not only will she find herself embroiled in a battle that had waged on for hundreds of years—the battle between the Malcontents and the Peacekeepers (as I have christened them—since they are the ones who try their best to keep the Malcontents at bay and let peace reign upon mortals). She will find herself bewitchingly attracted to the one man who can keep her safe—Roman Draganesti.

How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire is definitely treat! Not only will it make you laugh, cry and fall in love, it will also invite you to ponder and think about the ramifications of being a vampire. From the morality of being a creature of darkness—to the little everyday things like would they ever crave such things as whisky and maybe even try mixing some garlic in their drink just to see if the small amount of toxin could make life a little more exciting.

There is a both a sense of weariness and mystery surrounding Roman Draganesti. In the beginning, you can see how very long he has been fighting his own demons. You also feel that when life stretches on ahead of you for hundreds of years—there seems little point in hurrying. That is that man that we are acquainted with. But when he meets Shana, he changes and his thirst for life is renewed. Then the story picks up more speed and the plot becomes more complex, more exciting and even more interesting (since I can’t write spoilers, take my word for it—the plot really thickens).

A wonderful tale, How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire delves into the vampire world like no other vampire book or movie has ever done before. There is a sense of humanity about the characters (most especially the vampires) that you can see and feel. And there are characters that I am sure will stay ingrained in your minds and hearts. The characters’ impression so deep that I bet Ms. Spark’s mailbox will be filled with requests, nay, demands—to let such characters’ stories be heard. Ms. Sparks, this had better be only the beginning of a vampire series!!!
