Granden, the King of Wands is bored and also tired of watching his sister Mirinda torture the poor fairies. When he casts a spell trading Mirinda to the fairies of Ziabell for fairy Princess Isabelle, he has no idea what he wrought or that it was really a trap of Isabelle's making! Both Granden and Mirinda are basically spoiled, selfish people who do not understand the meaning of giving or of love. For 1000 years, both cling to their stubborn ways until Mirinda is forced to admit her love and selflessly give to Jadder, the fairy king.

Jadder and Isabelle thought that they had made a grave mistake in trying to force their true loves to learn how to love unselfishly. Finally, Mirinda and Granden see the light, but it takes almost losing their heart's desires to do so.

For such a short book, Carys Weldon manages to pack emotion and true life lessons into Fairytale Love . You will read this and think. I KNOW people like this. It would take 1000 years to figure it out and maybe that wouldn't quite be enough. This also reflects a mirror on all of us as to how we hold back, when simple communication and taking others into account would save all of us a world of hurt.
