Laverne is a divorced mom with two kids; she has her own shop and uses the spare time she has for chatting on the internet. She meets Cagle there via an online matchmaking service. She's not looking for love, she tells herself, only someone to talk dirty too, once in a while.
After chatting a while with Cagle, she decides that it's time to meet, and they make an appointment at Cowboys. He doesn't know who she is or how she looks like, but when he's able to recognise her, so she promises him; she'll go anywhere with Cagle. And to her surprise; he recognised her; so she went with him and had the most amazing sex ever.
The days pass by and she keeps on thinking of him, although she's sure she doesn't want to have a relationship (only the sex); she really starts having feelings for Cagle. They meet up a couple of times; have sex every time they see each other and she keeps on telling herself that she isn't in love with him.
"Alone by choice" is a real short story, but it's written in a way that is familiar for Hollie Davidson. I only gave it a 3,5 rating, because in my opinion this really was too short; I couldn't help but have the feeling in the end that there could be more in this story. So my conclusion? Less sex and more stories; cause Hollie Davidson is really good in writing romantic stories and I'm still really looking forward for reading more from her!
