After growing up under the New York foster care system and growing up in borrowed homes, Elizabeth “plain-as-pudding” Pudding finds out that she might actually finally have a home of her own. She was the heiress of Blackstone, an island castle in Drasmoor, Scotland. The executor of the estate had said that she has to stay in Blackstone for six full months before it is formally handed down to her. So Elizabeth sets off for Scotland… Once she gets there she finds out that there is a phantom in the castle. A very tall, handsome, black-haired, blue-eyed phantom named Duncan. The first laird of the castle Blackstone.

Duncan MacDougall is the ghost of Blackstone. Cursed to live as a phantom hundreds of years ago until he finds the one to change his fate, he wanders in his castle and wreaks his own brand of havoc… until he meets Elizabeth. Can she be the one who can break the spell cast upon him? Is she strong enough to be with him against so much odds?

A Man in A Kilt has an expert-writer quality to it. It is so well-written that after reading it, you will go on the internet or to your nearest bookstore looking for more books written by Sandy Blair. Then you’ll finish reading her other two novels in a span of a few hours and then you have to wait impatiently for the next one to come out. Shucks! Where in the world has Sandy Blair been hiding herself all these years? I cannot believe she didn’t consider writing until 2003! She has got to make up for it by writing faster.

The characters of the A Man in A Kilt are enchanting. I don’t think I’ve ever encountered a heroine quite like Beth before and she certainly makes herself so easy to love and truly unforgettable. As for Duncan… don’t you just love highlanders with their Scottish brogue and alpha male attitude? OH YEAH!!! While I was reading I thought I could just melt like a little puddle.

The plot line of the book is equally exciting and the story was woven wonderfully. There have been few books written in the graceful balance as Sandy Blair has been able to achieve with A Man in A Kilt. I enjoyed reading the book very, very, very much… it was almost sinful to be having that much fun!
