Jessica Ramsey was living in peace with her son Joe as she
was finally away from her abusive husband Cole, who she faked her death for to
get away. Secretly tucked away with a new identity, she thought she was safe.
That is until she decides to have lunch out in the opening. That one lunch
changes Jessica's life forever. While Jessica is at that restaurant having her
lunch she sees Cole or so she thought. It turns out to be Cole's identical twin
brother, Alex. In a crazed rage trying to get away from Alex, Jessica sends
herself to the hospital. While she briefly recovers, Alex gets word to his
brother that Jessica is alive and that he has a son. But when Alex learns that
his brother was abusive towards Jessica he fears he's made a mistake in tipping
Cole to Jessica's whereabouts. Fueled by guilt, Alex decides he must do
everything in his power to protect Jessica and her son, Joe from Cole.
Little does Alex know that his twin is coming for what he
thinks is rightfully his, Joe. But Jessica feels it down in her very soul that
Cole is coming and he’s not going to let anything get in the way of killing her
and calming Joe. And Jessica’s right. Cole is on his way to them and he’s not
letting anything stop him.
This suspenseful story will leave readers on the edge of begging for more. Michelle Perry is a delightful and insightful story-teller. The characters Cole and Alex are perfect examples of the Biblical Cain and Abel. The plot is drawn out and executed wonderfully. The writing style was simple and easy to understand. Cain and Abel is a riveting piece of work that is a page-turner at best. The chilly ending to this story will leave readers shocked and in awe.
